With only two more months left of this year, I decided that it was time to re-visit the goals that I set for myself for 2013 . I was really surprised to see that I’ve accomplished almost ALL of them!
- I ran the Chilly Half
- I travelled to California and participated in the Ragnar SoCal Relay
- ran a sub 2 hr half marathon in May
- Competed in Iron Girl Triathlon, and set a new PB at the Ontario Women’s Triathlon
- Ran another sub 2 hr half marathon
- Passed my CPPB exam
- Found the source of my morning headaches (dehydration & teeth grinding),
- and have reduced my credit card debt by close to $3,000.
So with my 2013 goals pretty much covered off, it’s time to start laying the foundation for my very ambitious 2014 goals:
November Goal #1
The only goal for this year that I’m still struggling with is my goal of eating cleaner. I have such a HUGE sugar addiction! Yet when I put my mind to it and avoid it like the plague, I can drop a lb/week without making any other lifestyle changes. I’m up a few pounds from earlier in the year, so my main goal this month is to eat cleaner – and by cleaner I mean less processed food and WAY less sugar. Meat, vegetables, fruit and no more Halloween candy….
November Goal #2
Run more than I did in October. Last month I covered 98 km, which isn’t that much (some people do that in a week), so this month I want to run MORE. I’ve put together an awesome training plan that has me running 35km/week, plus weights, spinning and swimming. I got it stuck into my thick head that if I really work hard I can run a sub 1:50 half marathon next Spring. Then, following that, I’ll train and run a few full marathons and hopefully my second or third attempt will qualify me to run Boston in 2016. I also have it in my head that next summer I can do another Olympic distance triathlon, the Iron Girl Triathlon, and the Ontario Women’s Triathlon. For those of you keeping score that’s a whole pile of races.
November Goal #3
Swim. Not once, but four times this month – on Monday nights. I haven’t done a training swim in two months and I really need to get back into the habit if I’m going to do those triathlons next summer.
November Goal #4
Use my indoor trainer four times. I haven’t figured out when to include that into my plan. I was going to try for Sunday afternoons but I’m concerned that one of the girls will get a finger caught in the spokes while I’m riding.
I know these goals seem pretty lofty, but with commitment and dedication I know that I can do them. In all honesty there isn’t much that can’t be accomplished if you set your mind to it, right?
Have a great week everyone!
