If there is anything I am not, it’s a princess. I’m not girly girly, and I’m not afraid of hard work. Which is probably why the Disney Princess that I can relate to the most is Cinderella:
Cinderella lives with, and cleans up after, her wicked step-mother and her two evil stepsisters….
I live with, and clean up after, my husband, and my three daughters…
Now I’m not calling my husband wicked, or my daughters evil, but let’s just say that I can totally relate to Cinderella. Cooking, cleaning, vacuuming, doing laundry, and raking leaves for my three daughters to jump in:
Just a part of a normal day for me.
When Cinderella goes to the ball, she has to complete quite a number of chores before she can go, and then has to overcome many obstacles to get the perfect ensemble.
Doing laundry, grocery shopping, packing lunches, and laying out clothes for the kids the night before I race… Then, trying to find a race outfit… I wish I had lovable mice like Gus and Jaq, and a Fairy Godmother to help me out.
Again, I can relate.
Just like Cinderella’s dream was to go to the ball – mine would be to go to Disney and do the Disney’s Princess Half Marathon one day… It would be like a magical dream come true!
Unfortunately, like Cinderella, I have far too many obstacles to overcome to get there… Perhaps one day a Fairy Godmother will help me get there? A girl can dream right?
