Happy #MotivateMe Monday! We are now in the final homestretch of 2014 with less than two weeks remaining! Although we aren’t quite done with this year, I’m already starting to plan out next year, and of course, the next week of meals and training.
#MotivateMe Monday is the day we share our fitness and meal plans for the week, along with our successes from the week before. Planning and sharing your plan has been proven to help reach goals and keep us accountable.
To stay accountable through the month of December, I teamed up with Champion Canada to challenge you to participate in the 25 Days of Strength Challenge. This is an advent calendar type challenge – every day is a new strength move. Although there’s only three days left, you can still join in. Today’s move is bicylces, tomorrow is bent over rows, and Christmas eve is dynamic planks.
Here are my strength moves from last week:
You might notice that in many of the pictures from the 25 Days of Strength Challenge I’m wearing a purple long-sleeve pullover and running tights. This super cute outfit was sent to me by Champion Canada to workout in as I challenged you to
25 24 strength moves.
The long-sleeved shirt is the Champion PerforMax® Women’s 1/4 Zip Pullover. It’s a beautiful lilac color with a black accent around the neck. across the shoulder and down the sleeve:
The arm has a really cute reflective snowflake design on it, and the logo on the left chest is also reflective:
The tights are the Champion® PerforMax Women’s Therma Tight with Champion Vapor Technology. They’re perfect for a cold winter run – very comfy and warm! There’s a drawstring in the waist so they don’t fall down, and cute zippered pocket on the rear waist band to store things like your house key and a gel.
I really liked how well these fit and stretch during a run.
I’ve been wearing this outfit for every single one of my runs over the past three weeks and I can reassure you that the long-sleeve with a running jacket has kept me warm in temperatures as low as -8C. I’ve run in sleet, snow and even the odd nice day and have felt wonderfully comfortable.

It was a great week with the added bonus of a fantastic almost 10 mile run on Saturday. I was moping, all bored around the house when my hubby reminded me that I had a few hours until Sierra had to leave for hockey. I then quickly threw my gear on and headed out for a run. At first I thought I was only going to run 10k, but my legs felt so great that I just kept on going for another almost 6k. I completed the 9.78 miles in 1:32 – I was so happy to finish that run with an average pace of 9:25/mile.
This Week’s Fitness Plan (What I plan to do):
Monday: 8.5 k run 25 Days of Strength – Bicycles
Tuesday: 25 Days of Strength – Bent over rows
Wednesday: Speed work 8.5k plus 25 Days of Strength – Dynamic planks
Thursday: Christmas – Rest
Friday: 10k run
Saturday: TRX workout – Sierra is in a hockey tourney so I have no idea if I’ll be able to run
Sunday: 18k run
Have an active and healthy week
AND a very Merry Christmas everyone!!
