If you’re new here, #MotivateME Monday is a weekly link-up co-hosted by myself and Run Mommy Run for accountability and encouragement. It’s a place for us to share goals, plans, successes and have each other to pick us up to keep moving forward.
The past few weeks have been CRAZY busy with hockey, softball, holiday parties and Christmas shopping. We got our tree up and it’s really looking like Christmas around here:
I even did some holiday baking:
And got crafty with the teachers gifts:
I don’t know about you but I’m really really excited that Christmas is almost here! Christmas and all the holiday prep makes my anxiety go into overdrive. I stress about the perfect gifts, stocking stuffers, wrapping paper, food etc. My brain is a complete mess. This last week before Christmas is always the most stressful week, both at work (hello year-end), and at home, which is why I’m excited that Christmas is almost here – once Christmas arrives the holiday stress disappears (YAY!). After Christmas there’s no more gifts, wrapping and meals to worry about for another year. I also get a nice week off of work to enjoy with my family.
This next week will be all about surviving the holiday stress. Meal planning and being active helps IMMENSELY with this. I’ve learned over the years that coming home from work and not knowing what I’m gonna make for dinner adds to the stress, so I took a look around the kitchen and came up with a plan using a lot of food that we already had in the house. Spaghetti and meat balls on Monday, Tacos on Tuesday, soup and sandwiches on Wednesday, and chicken on Thursday. Friday night we’re out with my running friends for a Christmas celebration and Saturday is Christmas Eve.
A good run helps me clear my mind and helps me to create a plan to get the 600 things I haven’t yet done. So my fitness plan is to just get out there and run three times, and on the days I don’t run to spend 20 minutes by myself swinging my kettlebells.
Have a healthy and active Christmas everybody!
