Sigh – another fun summer weekend has come and gone. I feel that with each awesome weekend I’m getting closer to summer being over. While I try to enjoy every moment, the back-to-school signs popping up around the malls and stores makes me realise just how short our Canadian summers are.
This weekend was my annual girls camping trip with my roommate from University and her two sons. Unfortunately only two of my three daughters could make it – Brooke was playing in a softball tournament at the other end of the province. She was upset about missing camping so I promised the girls I would take some time off later in the summer and take them for two nights somewhere. This year we went camping at BEE HAPPY FAMILY CAMPGROUND in Inisfil, Ontario.
We had a lot of fun playing mini golf, swimming, riding our bikes around the campground, playing at the park and playing basketball. Friday night we went to my friend’s son’s football game, then on Saturday we drove to Wasaga Beach and spent the day there. There was so much to do!

All in all we had a great time, though we missed Brooke and hubby. Brooke didn’t mind missing out because she had a lot of fun playing FIVE softball games at her tournament!
Last week I ran 3 times, and did a lower body strength workout once. For our camping weekend I averaged 15,000 steps each day so I’ll call that exercise too 🙂

Monday: 8k morning run +
lower body weights at lunch + coaching Brooke’s softball practice
Wednesday: 8k morning run + lower body weights at lunch at GoodLife Fitness + coaching Brooke’s softball game
Thursday: Upper body weights at lunch at GoodLife Fitness
Friday: 8k morning run + lower body weights at lunch at GoodLife Fitness
Saturday: Country line dancing 🙂
Sunday: Run or Kettlebell workout
While we had a busy week and a fun filled weekend, I’m looking forward to this week being less busy – I need to catch up on housework and laundry 🙂
