Hey everyone! Oy ” I sure dropped the bomb on ya with the 31 day challenge, haven’t I? Blogging every single day sure takes more effort than I originally thought and planned. Life gets in the way and here I am wondering ” do I pick up where I left off Day 19(?) and then post 12 more challenges? Is anyone even still interested?
As for where I’ve been … I’ve been busy with Borden Lane Solutions
My side business takes advantage of my WordPress skills – I transfer bloggers from free blog hosts like wordpress.com and blogspot to self-hosted wordpress. As well, I provide wordpress support and also do some custom blog designs, like my most recent projects ” Treats with a Twist, Come Back Momma and Jack Straw Lane.
I’ve worked my tail off like crazy lately trying to earn enough money to pay for my flight to California because I’ve been asked to be on a blogger team for the Ragnar So Cal Relay (so excited!). I’ll be running as a team with 11 other bloggers from Huntington Beach to San Diego ” I really am so excited!
Unfortunately flights from Canada are crazy expensive ($700) so I have to earn my way down to get there. I looked at my skills when I was first asked to do the race and evaluated how I could earn close to $1000 for the trip (flight, food, hotel etc). Ahhhh WordPress – I know a crazy amount of shit about it and can do almost anything with the right plugins and hacks. So I’ve been working like crazy helping people out with their blogs in the evenings after work and after I put the kids to sleep. Thankfully I ‘m getting really close to having enough money.
Unfortunately that hasn’t left a lot of time for my own blogging or my own training….
Speaking of Training
Training is going well ” I followed my training plan 2 weeks ago to a Ã…”T ÂÂ, including my first time swimming laps since last May. By Sunday afternoon I was exhausted!
And then this past week was cold and snowy but I still got out there to run a few times, went to spinning, swimming and bodypump.
(Oh yes – the thermometer in my van really did say -22C!)
Though this past weekend I took time off from training to move over a blog and to set up all the back-end management to be able to offer prepaid blog maintenance and support packages (look for an announcement about that soon!).
(Just a teaser)
All in all, here’s my training summary:
Tuesday: Ran 6k
Thursday: Ran 6k
Friday: Ran 8k, Swam 500m
Sunday: Ran 8k

This coming week’s training plan:

So that’s where I’ve been ” working, designing and training.
