As I wrote last Monday, last week was the beginning of my solo parenting summer, and I’m happy to report that it went very very well! Being prepared (groceries, laundry, lunches etc) really paid off! After this past week, I have to agree with this picture that I found on Pinterest:
Having 3 kids is no excuse. On the first day that hubby was away, Sierra and Brooke rode their bikes to the park while I ran behind them pushing Amber in the jogger. At the park we played tag and I also discovered a new pull up bar:
Then on Monday I went to spinning class, on Wednesday I went to BodyPump, Thursday was spinning, then my bro came over that night to babysit so I could go out for an ah-mazing dinner with a friend :), then Saturday I swam laps, and on Sunday I went for a solo 6k run.
It was a great week – I made it through herding the kids so I could get to work, to all of the soccer games and practices etc! Hooray!
One of the biggest helpers last week was the coffee machine! I LOVED LOVED LOVED that there was coffee ready for me EVERY MORNING! I programmed the coffee maker before bed and I woke up every morning to a fresh pot of coffee. Mmmmmm so wonderful!
This week I’ll continue with some of the new habits I started last week: grocery shopping/meal planning, programming the coffee maker, and packing my lunches the night before and I hope to have another successful week:
Tuesday: 5k run & Swimming
Friday: 5k run
Saturday: 10k run
BRING IT ON!
