This is my Mamavation Monday post for June 6, 2011
How was your week? It looks like quite a few of you had a FANTASTIC time at Mamavation Fitcation! I sure wish I had been able to go to meet all of you FABULOUS ladies!
My week has been a challenge. I’ve been battling a MAJOR case of the “I don’t wannas” and have been solo parenting since Wednesday (Hubby will be home June 11th). Oh – and there was that whole recovering from the half marathon thing in there too. All of which didn’t add up to a particularly active week:
Tues: 10 min on the eliptical, 15 min weights – Amber was crying in the gym child care so I had to
leave rescue her.
Wed: Ran a VERY slow 4.53km with Brooke and Amber in the jogging stroller while Sierra rode her bike
Thurs: BODYPUMP!!! (I love that class – I’m seriously considering becoming an instructor)
Fri: REST aka I had the “I don’t wannas”
Sat: MORE REST aka I still had the “I don’t wannas ”
Sun: HOT sweaty 6.53km – I still had the “I don’t wannas” but since my parents were over I figured I’d take advantage of it and go for a run.
My eating has been fairly good, meaning I prepared fresh meals for myself and the kids EVERY day, caving in to McDonald’s only once (today). I found a 50% off coupon for their Tuscan Grilled Chicken Salad in the mail, so I had that instead of fries and such (Quarter Pounder). I was quite surprised at how GOOD the salad tasted, and also VERY surprised at how low the calories are in it – I just checked… Only 340!! Not bad. Oh wait! That doesn’t include the calories in the dressing… On the bright side it has 26g of protein!
I must admit that I kinda fell apart by dinner time tonight – I didn’t feel like cooking for the kids, myself AND my parents so I bought Kentucky Fried Chicken (KFC) for us. I really don’t know why I did that… $40 for a whole bunch of FAT calories isn’t really worth it. Tomorrow is another day, right?
Which brings me to my next point… it’s been a LONG time since I PLANNED out my fitness. With meals I’ve been pretty good because of that whole grocery shopping thing, but my workouts has been a whole different story. So to help me stay on track, or even to HAVE a track, here’s my plan:
Mon: Can’t get out to meet my friend at the gym for our usual weights, because I cant leave the kids home alone, so I’ll do the Booty Camp Fitness Ultimate Home Edition DVD
Tues: BodyPump Class
Wed: Booty Camp Fitness Ultimate Home Edition DVD & run 5k
Thurs: Busy day – heading out to the NKOTB and BSB concert (including Meet & Greet!) – I’m going to count the 2-3 hrs dancing as a workout 🙂
Fri: Run 5k
Sat: Hubby home! Run 10k
Sun: 5k RACE!! (Toronto Challenge that raises money for charities that benefit Seniors – my dad’s job is one of the charities, so it means a lot to help him with something he’s VERY passionate about).
