Motivation – it’s hard to find some days. And lately it’s been hard to find most days. And then some days you almost walk literally into motivation. Or in my case – one of my greatest heroes:
Yep – that’s Tosca Reno!
I’ve been a huge fan of hers for a LONG time! So imagine my surprise when I walked into Indigo right here in my small town and saw Tosca at a book signing. I had gone to the book store to pick up a gift card for a birthday party that I had just dropped Sierra off at. We’d forgotten all about the party, so my plan was to pick up a gift card for the birthday girl, then rush back to the party…
Holy moly it’s Tosca Reno!
Thankfully, for once in my life, I had enough spare cash on me to pick up a book for myself. So I bought The Eat-Clean Diet for Family and Kids: Simple Strategies for Lasting Health and Fitness because it’s one of her books that I didn’t have yet, then I stood excitedly in line to talk to her and to get my book signed. Apparently I really lucked out because she had arrived at the store 90 min before I did and the staff told me people had lined up for hours to meet her, yet I only lined up for 10 min. By the time I showed up everyone else had pretty much left and I was the LAST signing she did!
Being last certainly has its advantages because I got to gush about how inspiring I think she is – and how I love her books and they’ve helped bring clean eating to the mainstream and gush gush gush… We also talked about the Super Bowl and clean eating dinner plans. I told her I was planning on making the clean eating chicken strips for the kids and she laughed because she had just blogged that she was making her chicken bites for her Super Bowl party.
And then I got to have my picture taken with her!
(Man – I need to do something about my frumpy hair!!)
I love all of Tosca’s books because in my opinion they’re about something we’re supposed to do. Clean eating is not dieting, or a fad – it’s how we’re SUPPOSED to eat. Real food. Fruits, veggies, whole grains, and meat.
That said, I’ve strayed very far from eating clean lately and meeting Tosca was just the motivation and kick in the proverbial pants I needed – I’m even snacking on some apple slices as I type this!
Question: What will motivate you this week?
