Lately I’ve been feeling bummed out. Some stuff has happened in my personal life that’s kinda been bringing me down, and I’ve struggled with my workout routines.
But tonight I was reminded of how far I’ve come, and what I’m capable of accomplishing when I cam across this video of myself taken 5 years ago. It’s me, playing with my daughter Sierra (who was 2 at the time) in our backyard:
Three years ago I “woke” up and realised that if I suck it up and exercise or run and ate more veggies and fruit (ok, a heck of a lot more), I would have more energy. So I sucked it up, started running and eating better. I slowly lost the weight and man – do I ever have a lot more energy now!
It’s always nice to reflect back on your progress – to remind yourself why you’re working hard and to remind yourself of how far you’ve come, even if getting there seemed painfully slow.
Thank you mom for uploading that video to YouTube. It serves as a great reminder of how I never ever want to feel as tired as I did back then, and that all the lunch time workouts I do are worth it.
