Happy Monday everyone!
I am so happy to announce that we have an AWESOME new co-host for #MotivateMe Monday…. LUCIE from Run Mommy Run!
Lucie has been participating every Monday in the linkup for a LONG time – maybe even since we first started? Lucie is a runner from the Niagara Region of Ontario, Canada, has a twin sister and is the awesome blogger beind Run Mommy Run. We’re so glad to have her!!
If you’re new here, #MotivateME Monday is a weekly link-up co-hosted by myself, Running Rachel and now Run Mommy Run for accountability and encouragement. It’s a place for us to share our goals, plans, successes and have each other to support us and help us to keep moving forward.
How it works is that each week we share a recap of our activity from the past week, then share our activity and meal plans for the week coming up. For example, last week was not the best week for me activity-wise. I had terrible chest cold that made it feel like I had an elephant sitting on my chest all week. I was tired, headachy and grouchy. I worked out all of twice: Yoga at GoodLife Fitness on Monday, and a DailyBurn workout with Juliette and Becky on Thursday. Wednesday night it was so nice out that I went for a very short 800 meter run around the block chasing my youngest, but I wouldn’t really call that a work out. Friday night I went skating with the kids, but didn’t last long because I went down HARD on the ice while playing tag with the girls (in related news, my girls are FAST skaters!). Falling as an adult hurts WAY more than falling does when you’re 10. The fat pad on my right knee is a beautiful shade of purple now 🙂
My little buddy sure has a lot of running stamina!
While last week’s lack of activity sucked, I’m happy to share that all of the rest worked – I feel A LOT better today and enjoyed our annual “Sportsing Bowl” Party. For the party the men go to one neighbour’s house while all the ladies come to mine. We wear sports jerseys from any sport other than football, enjoy traditional Super Bowl party foods, play board games until the half time show, then watch the half time show etc. Basically it’s just an excuse for us to get together. This year we also watched Happy Gilmore on Netflix (which oddly enough reappeared as a question in Trivial Pursuit).

This week I hope to jump right back into the fitness routine I shared last week:
Monday: BodyFlow Yoga at GoodLife Fitness
Tuesday: 4 mile run + core workout
Wednesday: BodyPump at GoodLife Fitness
Thursday: 4 mile run + core workout
Friday: CXWORX™ at GoodLife Fitness + Skating with the kids after work
Saturday: 45 min indoor trainer cycling + DailyBurn Yoga workout
Sunday: Long run
Our meal plan for the week will include the leftover chili from the Sportsing Bowl party, Ham & cheese wraps, spaghetti and meat sauce and honestly that’s about as far out as I’ve planned 🙂
Have a great week everyone!
